Professional Make-Up Johannesburg
Professional Make-Up for Professional Beauty Practitioners
If you live in Johannesburg and have an in-depth interest in the world of beauty therapy, make-up and other related product and procedure training courses, you’ve most probably come across mention of our prestigious training academy – Face to Face Beauty & Make-Up Design School.
Doing Things the Right Way
When an organisation has been in existence since 1965, grown and evolved since then, such a concern must have been conducting their business effectively and efficiently, which we most certainly have. We’re even still owned and managed by members of the same family – the descendants of the founder, Mrs Rhona Greaves.
Specialities and Growth
Skin health and care, therapy and treatments, make-up, its design and special effects have all become specialities within the ever-expanding beauty field, with no sign of slowing down, not even during tough economic times and near recession, worldwide. It’s been a growing industry for many years.
An Art and a Science
Without proper professional training and formal qualifications, it’s almost impossible to enter and build a successful career in any one of these areas of expertise today, particularly since they’re now based on artistic abilities and scientific knowledge.
This begs the question – does one need to be an innovative, practising artist, plus a science boffin, in order to join the ranks of professional make-up artists these days? The answer is a resounding “No”, although an imaginative, creative mind and an enquiring mind will be invaluable.
However, the requirements which will equip you to become a success in your chosen beauty field can be and are taught (and learned) at our academy in Johannesburg (with a second campus in Helderkruin, on the north western border of Johannesburg).
Numerous Courses
Three fields of study are particularly sought after and popular – Make Up Design & Artistry, Beauty & Fashion, and Part-Time Make-Up courses, the latter being ideal for those who want to update and improve their existing knowledge, those who are unable to attend classes full time due to work commitments, and/or others for whom modular, certificate courses will suffice.
Important Recognition and Accreditation
Prospective students and their sponsors should note that we are the only South African make-up design and special effects academy which is recognised and accredited both nationally and internationally, a factor which is of paramount importance for those who want limitless opportunities to pursue their careers, wherever in the world it may take them.
Professional Bodies
• CIDESCO International (Zurich) – continually improves and develops competence and integrity of therapists, make-up and special effects artists globally, also fostering closer professional relationships with associate medical bodies.
• ITEC (UK) – sets industry standards and enables qualified beauty practitioners to work in any country, internationally.
• City & Guilds (London) – offers internationally recognised qualifications.
• Services Seta – a local body which assures the quality of our (and various other related industries) qualifications, which are in alignment with SAQA – the national South African Qualifications Authority.
What you Need
In order to enrol at our academy, you don’t require matric, but you do need an eye for detail, the ability to apply yourself, the determination to succeed in your chosen speciality and you must be at least 16 years of age.
We’ll help you attain the passport to your career ambitions.
