Deposit: R 6000.00 which is payable on enrollment.
The balance is payable over 10 months at a rate of R 4200.00 per month.

Make-up, Design & Artistry

Course Objectives:

This programme is highly practical and designed to give you a good knowledge and understanding of make-up application.

  • As part of this course, you will be supplied with a high-quality complete make up kit with top brands.
  • You will graduate with a Face to Face certificate of achievement.

Entrance requirements:

Learners need a matric (Grade12) certificate but the minimum age requirement will be 16 years of age.

Learners need to contact the academy to book an enrollment interview with the registrar where all the courses and procedures will be explained to the learner and their sponsor. On-line enrollments can also be accepted.

  • Anatomy of skin, muscles and bones
  • Application of make-up using different techniques
  • Corrective make-up (face shapes, noses, eyes and lips)
  • Camouflage make-up (tattoos, birthmarks etc.)
  • Bridal make-up
  • Colour and lighting for theatre and photography
  • Kabuki make-up
  • Ballet make-up
  • Photographic make-up for men
  • Make-up for black and white photos
  • Theatrical ageing and making of eye bags
  • Latex ageing for film
  • Special effects (cuts, bullet wounds, burns etc.)
  • First Aid
  • Crepe Beard application
  • Make-up styles through the ages (Egyptian / Greek)
  • Oriental (Geisha, Eastern Indian)
  • Copying make-up styles from magazines
  • Introduction to body art

  • Sculpting designs for face, hands, feet and body parts
  • Taking impressions and making moulds
  • Making Teeth and Dental Impressions

  • Piece molding for noses, chins and eye bags
  • Silicone pieces
  • Wounds and Injuries
  • Use of different blood, collodion and various materials used in filmmaking
  • Hot and Cold Foam


Please note:
All learners will be required to complete experiential learning hours in the industry.
There are two set dates scheduled throughout the year.
