Johannesburg School | Professional Make Up
Where Professional Make Up Artists Study in Johannesburg
Professional make up is generally understood to mean one of two things in Johannesburg and elsewhere in southern Africa. The term may refer to the process of having cosmetics applied by a qualified person who performs this task regularly as an occupation and means to earn a living.
Alternatively, it indicates specialised, high-quality products which last well once applied, and are typically used by professional practitioners of this art form. At our illustrious beauty and make up design school in Johannesburg, we teach, train and mentor our learners to become qualified professional make up artists and/or beauty therapists.
Once suitably qualified and accredited, students are equipped to specialise further in the career field of their choice and/or have the opportunity of working anywhere in the world – the ideal way to obtain additional experience and enhance their portfolios.

Two Annual Intakes/Commencements
We normally have two intakes per year for our courses – early in February and August – arrangements which ideally suit most learners and their sponsors. A deposit is required on enrolment, whilst the balance is payable over two or more months thereafter, depending on the course and its total duration.
Part or Full Time Studies
Some courses are offered with a choice between full or part time attendance, whilst those with more and wider, in-depth content require full time studies. Shorter, part time modules are designed for persons who want to refresh their existing skills or practice the art of cosmetic application as a hobby.
Highly Recommended
Upon graduation, successful students earn a certificate or diploma, again depending on which course they’ve selected and completed. We recommend and actively encourage graduates to sit for international examinations, accreditation and membership of globally recognised international bodies.
In doing so, they open doors for themselves and subsequently have umpteen opportunities for the rest of their professional lives, wherever they choose to work – here in Johannesburg, overseas or en route, aboard an ocean liner.
When you want to qualify in Johannesburg as a professional make up artist, learn with and from one of the best academies in South Africa, our college, which has consistently been training beauty industry specialists since 1965.
