What about the Best Time?
Of course, the best registration time is the moment you realise that you want to study, graduate and qualify in the field of beauty, make-up design and/or special effects at our specialised, nationally and internationally accredited college, located at two premises in the Johannesburg area – one, our head office, is in Parktown and the other is situated in Helderkruin, just to the city’s western side.
Why Two Campuses?
We were delighted to find that the demand for our courses grew and become so large that we were forced to either turn applicants away temporarily or establish a second campus. The latter action was taken, much to the delight of scores of prospective new learners who flock to our open days whenever they are announced.
If you have left it too late for the February start, it will not be a train smash. We have two intakes per annum – the second commences in early August, so be sure to register now, in time for that one. Registrars are at the ready to answer all your questions and queries, and enrol you in the next available intake.
Qualities of Our Learners
- Those who have a love of and passion for all things beauty related.
- Must have good powers of observation and an excellent eye for detail.
- Matric is not a prerequisite, but candidates must be at least 16 years of age.
- Should be prepared to work hard and work irregular hours, if required to do so.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively are distinct advantages.
- Neat appearance, well groomed and polite.
- Creative, imaginative and determined to learn and succeed, enthusiastic.
Professional Education and Training
Upon completion of each year’s full time studies, successful students are awarded a diploma. These courses are in accordance with SETA and are registered with and in alignment with SAQA – the South African Qualifications Authority. These diplomas earn learners national recognition.
Students are actively encouraged to additionally write the examinations for international recognition, accreditation and membership of premier world class bodies – ITEK, City & Guilds, and CIDESCO. This will stand them in good stead, as they will be able to practice their chosen profession and speciality across the world and locally.
It must be noted that our academy is the only beauty, make-up design and special effects school in Africa which carries this prestigious recognition and we’re also the longest established such specialist school in South Africa.
