Make Up Beginners Guide

Make Up - EyesTips on How to Apply Make up for Beginners

It may seem daunting when first learning how to apply make up as there are so many products, tools and techniques available that you can master. To the beginner, it can seem overwhelming, but it’s also an exciting and creative world. So, we are here to guide you as you explore the basics of how to apply make up like a pro.

Basics on How to Apply Make Up Like a Pro:

  1. Start with a good base

Every great artist knows that the canvas you paint on is the starting point to any good painting. It’s the same when it comes to your make up. Make sure that you moisturise your face and invest in a good-quality primer and foundation. Apply foundation by using your fingertips, a sponge or a brush.

  1. Learn How to Contour and Highlight

Probably one of the more complex skills to master is knowing how to contour and highlight facial features. Knowing where to place the highlighter and what features to accentuate takes time to master. But it can make a dramatic change as it emphasises your most striking features. If contouring seems intimidating, start with a highlighter and add a small amount to cheeks and brow bones to add a natural glow.

  1. Master the Eyes

For the most dramatic looks, you need to focus on how to apply make up to the eye area. Practising using eyeliner, as well as learning a good technique to apply mascara will accentuate the eyes. Another key factor is knowing how to apply your eye shadow. It can be a lot of fun to play around with all the different colours.
