Hair Styling & Hair Dressing
Hair Styling Versus Hair Dressing
It does not matter how well you are dressed, which exclusive designer labels you are sporting, which make-up artist attends to your make-up, how much your expensive bespoke jewellery cost, which car you drive, or how you earn your income and spending money – if your hair, your crowning glory, is out of sorts on a bad hair day, and your crown appears to have lost its former glory, nothing else feels right.
It Is That Important
You simply do not feel your best, and nor does any other woman who cares about her grooming and appearance. Hair and hair styling is just that important. It makes or breaks a look, an outfit, an occasion, and a woman’s mood and feeling of wellbeing.
Very few modern women have the time, inclination, or money to engage the services of a personal hair stylist on a daily basis. Most rely on the talent, training, and skills of a favourite qualified hair stylist, whom they consult at a hair salon periodically, as and when needed. Day to day hair styling is done at home with ease, after hair has been professionally attended to by a hair dresser.
Professional Hair Dressers
The education, theoretical and practical training, partially undertaken on an apprenticeship basis, is a full-time field of study at a recognised hair dressing college or academy. It takes several years of successful study to earn the right to undergo a trade test and sit for recognised examinations, prior to obtaining an accredited, professional hair dressing qualification with which to pursue a career and profession as a hair dresser/stylist.
An Additional Service
This is not the ideal solution for an independent image consultant, who includes special occasion make-up in her/his services, or a freelance day, evening, and bridal make-up artist that wishes to also offer fast fashion hair styling as an additional service and source of extra income. He or she is not a qualified, professional hair dresser who has the training and ability to cut, colour, style, and treat every aspect of clients’ hair. Existing hair is styled, utilising styling techniques, as taught in two of Face to Face Beauty and Make-Up Design School’s short modular certificate courses.
