Beauty Therapy College

Enrol Now for Next Year’s Beauty Therapy College Intake

At our prestigious beauty and make-up design college’s two conveniently located campuses within the Johannesburg area, we provide aspirant professionals with a full spectrum of recognised and accredited educational and training courses, everything from therapy to artistry, prosthetics to aesthetics, special effects and many more.

Part- and Full-time Studies

While most of our college’s diploma modules, inclusive of beauty therapy, require full-time attendance and study, we are also able to accommodate part-time learners by offering several courses which are primarily designed to expand and improve existing knowledge. In certain instances, the latter are available to beginners too; on successful completion of their part-time course, students are issued with a certificate.

Proud Heritage

It all began in 1965, now 49 years ago, and we have built a long and proud heritage since those early years. Today, our academy is the longest established specialist school of its kind in South Africa. In fact, we have the distinction of being the only nationally and internationally acknowledged specialist make-up design and special effects college on the continent of Africa. Additionally, all our formal learning material, examinations and qualifications conform to the standards and content prescribed by this country’s only bona fide national accreditation body, Services Seta.

Graduates of full-time diploma modules are actively encouraged to sit for the internationally accredited professional membership examinations offered by City & Guilds, ITEC and CIDESCO. With these membership accreditations under the belt, our graduates virtually have a professional “passport” to work anywhere in the world, or specialise in whichever direction they choose.

Therapy

At one stage, mankind became somewhat obsessed with the pure science of health, skin and body care, medicines, lotions, potions and cosmetic products, largely ignoring a lot of the wisdom passed down by previous generations through the centuries.

Nowadays, there is a considerable swing back to numerous natural remedies and practices; people (and scientists) are again taking a far more holistic approach to beauty, curative and restorative measures. There is ample evidence of this in the popularity of therapies.

Therapy has been defined as a treatment intended to relieve or cure an ailment, which may be psychological, physical or even preventative. It is generally thought to be more effective if the body is treated as holistically as possible, since most organs and symptoms are interrelated.

Beauty Therapist Training

Our complete therapist training extends over three years of full-time study. However, each year specialises in different subject matter and the years run sequentially. One cannot select the second or third year’s modules without first successfully attaining the prior year’s diploma.

Three Diploma Modules

  • Beauty Specialist – thorough comprehension of practical and theoretical factors pertaining to body and skin treatments.
  • Body Therapy – builds on knowledge gained during the first year, while learning about effective application of progressive massage techniques, body and facial therapies and treatment disciplines, which include Thalasso, Phyto and Hydrotherapy.
  • Spa Therapy – extends knowledge, enabling students to focus on remedies, which are beneficial in various aspects, from health and medical spas to assisting cosmetic surgery practitioners.

How to Proceed

Periodically, open days are held at both our campuses, giving prospective learners the ideal opportunity to visit us, see what our students achieve and speak to our teaching staff. Alternatively, book a beauty therapy enrolment interview with our registrar and learn about all the opportunities on offer at our top college.
