How to Apply Makeup That Fits Everyone

How to Apply Make-upHow to Apply Makeup for Everyone

Makeup is a concept that most women are more than familiar with. It’s an almost daily ritual that most of us adhere to and for good reason. It’s so convenient to be able to just cover that blemish, plump up our lips, or bring out our natural eye colour, all in an attempt to enhance our natural facial features.

Makeup can be a great confidence booster and here, at Face to Face Beauty & Make-Up Design School, we believe that makeup has the power to transform. This is why we offer a range of part-time short courses on how to apply makeup at both our Head Office and West Rand office so that you can brush up on your makeup skills.

We share some tried-and-tested basics of how to apply makeup for everyday use that will leave you feeling ready to take on any daytime event, whether it’s going to the office or enjoying a special occasion.

How to Apply Makeup for Everyday Use

To get right into it, start with moisturiser. This will not only nourish your skin but smoothen it, allowing for a more even application. Then, if needed, apply primer to ensure that your makeup stays put longer, especially during warmer days.

Now you can apply your foundation. Whether you prefer a simple or more extravagant look, the application method stays the same: dab dots of foundation to your chin, cheeks, nose and forehead. Then, lightly spread it from the centre to the outer edges of your face. If you feel that you need more coverage, you can also add concealer.

Here’s where the fun starts! Add colour to your cheeks with blush, bronzer and highlighter. For enhanced effortlessness, stick to blush only. All you have to do is smile and apply it modestly to the highest point of the cheek. Then, add eye shadow. You can choose whichever colours work with your skin tone but remember this important rule of thumb: the light shades are always your base while the dark shades create definition. Make your eyes pop with a lick of mascara and, if you prefer, a touch of eyeliner.

Finish your daytime look off with your favourite go-to lipstick or gloss and complete it with setting powder or spray, and you are ready to face the day!
