With summer almost in full swing, for bridal make-up artists throughout South Africa, this means one thing: It is wedding season. Playing an enormous role in summer, weddings are the most beautiful, the most extravagant, and the most expensive day of any man and woman’s life, which is why brides need to look their very best. As the star of the show, it is up to the make-up artist to make the bride-to-be look flawless on the biggest day of her life.
If you’re passionate about make-up, are creative, flexible, and reliable, understand the colour wheel, love playing with colours, and find hiding imperfections and enhancing features fascinating, then this is the time to do a bridal make-up course. It is estimated that over 30 000 couples say their “I dos” during South Africa’s wedding season – and that number may even have increased.
What this means is that you need to get up and running as soon as possible. One can only think of the extra money you can make, and to top it off, this is a job that you can do on weekends, which leaves your week free for your normal job. Bridal make-up is a lucrative business, but in order to succeed in this highly competitive industry, you need the best of the best courses and qualifications behind your name.
Face to Face Beauty Make-up & Design School has been training and supplying the beauty industry with some of the top beauty therapists, hairdressers, massage therapists, nail technologists, special effects artists, and fashion, photography, and bridal make-up artists for many years.
Nationally and internationally accredited and recognised by City & Guilds (London), ITEC (UK), and CIDESCO (Zurich), Face to Face Beauty Make-up & Design School offers one of the best bridal make-up courses and short workshops in South Africa. At Face to Face, we believe that every woman has unique, beautiful features, and using that as our inspiration, we teach our bridal make-up artists that bridal make-up should be long lasting, look amazing in photographs, and be timeless. When a woman looks at her wedding pictures ten years from now, you want them to still love the way the way her make-up looked.
At Face to Face, we offer a two-module Saturday morning bridal make-up workshop. This workshop covers everything you will need to know, such as face shapes, basic hygiene and sterilisation, eyebrow shaping, corrective and camouflage make-up, day and evening make-up, bridal makeup, basic colour and lighting, and contouring, as well as the correct application of false lashes. You will also receive a basic kit that includes a foundation palette, eyeliner pencils, eyeshadow/blush palette, false lashes, mascara, foundation sponges, lip liner pencils, lipstick colours, mascara wands, and a powder brush set, powder puff, and a spatula headband.
To be a bridal make-up artist takes exceptional skill, but if you’re a good artist you’ll easily get work. If you’d like to turn this into a business that has the potential to grow into something permanent, then visit our team now, or should you be interested in a longer certificate or diploma, visit us on our OPEN DAY on the 4th of November 2017.
