Should You Recommend Lash Tinting to Your Clients?Whether it’s an eye-brow wax treatment, tweeze or thread, the effect of a perfect arch is more effective than a fresh haircut. As any make-up artist and beauty specialist knows, eyebrows and lashes are powerful features that give the face a geometric balance and also help to make the eyes pop. However, having polished brows and luscious lashes requires more than merely getting rid of stray hairs every few weeks and applying mascara every day. Traditionally, not matching your hair colour to your eyebrows was something of a beauty faux pas. These days, fashion shows around the world hire flaxen-haired models that parade down the runway with brown, bold or coloured arches. Taking a few minutes to darken your client’s eyebrows will add time to your client’s often limited-time beauty routine, and your client wants a striking look that makes their eyes pop, then you can recommend lash tinting with ease.
Help Your Client Stand Out with Thick Lashes
Darker lashes can make the world of difference to your client’s look. But who has the time and inclination to put on mascara every day if there isn’t any need? Even though lash tinting has hit the mainstream beauty industry, there are still many South African women who have yet to take the plunge and indulge in the trend. While the intricacies of different lash tinting procedures can be taught and learned, the guiding principle stays the same. The procedure includes the use of a vegetable-based dye on both sets of eyelashes and brows for even more definition. It’s easier to think of it as a glaze for these hairs. During the brow and lash tinting, the beautician applies Vaseline to the skin that surrounds the hair. This protects the skin and prevents the dye from bleeding onto it. A protective pad is placed under the bottom lash in order to cover the skin below. The tint is then painted directly onto the lashes, and after 20 minutes, all residue is removed using a wet cloth. The tint doesn’t work like a tattoo, so the dye only colours existing hair. This means that any new hair growth will also need to be tinted in future.
